20's
Western Electric 553 wall phone, #2 dial, 144 receiver, Older
W.E. re-finish on shell, modular brown cloth covered cords. This
is a SIDE TONE set, that is to say it is NOT wired to eliminate
noise from the transmitter and dial. (this is the original wiring).
These phones used the same metal casing as used on the 534 subset
(ringer box). Western Electric liked to get the maximum use out
of their parts. These are hard to find with all original components.
Most have been updated like the 653a below. |

30's Western Electric 653a wall phone, #5 dial, bulldog trans, 706a receiver,
new powder coat finish, modular brown cloth covered cords. These phones used the
same metal casing as used on the 634 subset (ringer box). Western Electric liked
to get the maximum use out of their parts. These phones were used well into the
60's. Just look in Sheriff Andy Taylor's kitchen (in the black and white episodes)!

| *1918
Automatic Electric compact dial wall phone. Original black finish and nickel,
marked 3" trans and marked, nickel "mercedes"dial. Black bells.
Has original electronics. This model was made from approximately 1910-12 and into
the early 20's and first came with a sunburst dial,
then the "mercedes dial" and finally the #23
dial. I have found rebuilt versions with the #24 dial. This is a collector phone
which has not been tested to work. I can install a modern (internal and invisible)
network if you want it to be a fully functioning phone ($50.00). | Sold |
